About 2048 Plus

2048 Plus is a free time-attack version of the classic sliding-tile number puzzle. You slide every tile on the board with the arrow keys or a swipe, and two tiles with the same number merge into one tile with double the value. The twist in this version is the clock: you start with 30 seconds and every merge adds a little time back.

The run ends when the clock reaches zero or when no move is left on the board. Because merges refill time (up to a maximum of 40 seconds), the best players keep merging steadily instead of stopping to plan every move.

How scoring works

• Each merge adds the value of the new tile to your score, so merging two 64 tiles into a 128 is worth 128 points.
• The clock starts at 30 seconds, every merge adds 1.2 seconds, and it can never go above 40 seconds.
• Your best score is saved in your browser and sent to the Mini Arcade ranking if you choose a name.

Tips to improve

• Keep your biggest tile in one corner and build the chain of smaller tiles next to it.
• Prefer moves that merge something. A move that merges nothing still costs time and gives none back.
• Do not spend the whole clock on one huge tile. Small merges are what keep the timer alive.
• Use one or two directions most of the time and only switch when the board is blocked.
