About Watermelon Merge
Watermelon Merge is a free fruit-merging puzzle with a time limit. You drop fruit into a jar. When two fruits of the same kind touch, they merge into the next bigger fruit, from the small cherry all the way up to the watermelon. Every merge gives you points and adds a little time back to the clock.
Unlike the relaxed versions of this idea, this one is a time attack. You start with 30 seconds and the clock can be refilled up to 40 seconds, so the goal is to keep merging quickly without letting the jar overflow.
How scoring works
- A merge scores the size value of the new, bigger fruit, so late merges are worth much more than early ones.
- Every merge adds 1.2 seconds. The clock starts at 30 seconds and is capped at 40 seconds.
- If fruit stays above the dashed line for a short time, the jar overflows and the run ends.
Tips to improve
- Drop fruit next to a matching fruit so it rolls into a merge instead of landing on top of the pile.
- Use the preview in the top-right corner. It shows the fruit that comes after the next one.
- Keep the pile low and even. A tall column in the middle is the fastest way to overflow.
- Chain reactions are free time. Set up a merge so that its result touches another matching fruit.
